iLife explosion

Anyone who hangs out with me knows that my iPhone is normally right by my side. I couldn't dare miss a moment to capture via the iPhone camera. It often times drives Andrew crazy. I'm working on limiting the number of photos I take and the number of times I stop to take photos when we are out and about. I think I'm actually improving in this area, yahoo. It's understandably annoying. But, this is how I remember. The images I capture help form memories. I envision myself as an old, confused lady with a sweet husband by my side who has made book after book of all of my photos. Imagine the 'Notebook' story line but with photos instead of a written story. My mind works in images. I look at each of these photos and instantly remember what the rest of that day included. What I was doing, what I was thinking as the light so beautifully fell beneath those clouds. I remember that meal we shared together, those laughs we enjoyed, that great conversation we had on that walk...

Yes, I even remember the ridiculous number of times I had to stop at starbucks just to get through those long and sleepless days and worth-it drives back and forth to see my Andrew :)
With a cleared out iphone photo-roll, fall candles burning, and a stormy day outside, I'm ready to make & capture some new fall memories. Happy nearly Fall! It certainly feels like it around here...

Weekend iLife

This weekend included many of my favorite things. The "weekend" did start with Friday and ended with Monday by the way. 4 day weekend = Nurse perks!

Friday- I so enjoy watching little Isaac. He just tags along with my day and we find fun along the way. Lots of talking, pointing, and exploring. He is at such a fun, happy age (14 months) and seriously cracks me up! Isaac is a little water baby... we stayed at the fountain for an hour and a half and only had to leave because it was nap time. He likely could have spent all day there. Oh, darling boy, you are dearly loved by so many.

Saturday-  BBQ for the birthday boy, Andrew! More on our last minute BBQ to come later... But it was great!
Sunday was a day of rest. Much needed. Post church, Andrew and I enjoyed cooking up a delicious biscuit brunch and took the kind of nap that only Sundays offer. During the week, it's so quiet without him, but I'm so thankful that we have been able to coordinate semi-frequent visits.

Monday-  Sunshine, fresh fruit, dear friends, salt & straw ice cream, and a sweet and funny little 4 year old made for a winner of a day. Need I say more?

So thankful for a great stretch off work. Much needed; much appreciated.

little weekend joys - iLife

An entire Friday and Saturday off without plans? Perfect! I filled it with family time and sun... too much sun as you can see from my silly sunburn. So thankful to be living near family during this time in our lives. Andrew was accepted into schools across the country that were his top choices. But, in the end, we chose to stay near home and enjoy this time with family while we have it. Knowing that we'll be away for at least 7 years following Andrew's schooling (with the Air Force), we both decided to take advantage of being near. I'm so thankful. And, his school has turned out to be the perfect program for him.

"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jer. 29:11
