Sweet Summer Nights: Vista House & Multnomah Falls

Oh, summer bliss! Every free minute between working and sleeping (need more of that) has been spent soaking up every ounce of sun, summer, friends/fam, and the the gorgeous outdoors.

I am in love with Oregon summers and the countless beautiful places to explore and enjoy. We're taking advantage of every moment we can get before med school starts up again for Andrew.

Portland is turning out to be the perfect place for us to live in this time of our marriage and young lives. What a blessing to be so near to beautiful scenery; praise God for this opportunity and memorable time together.

We spent a late afternoon last week at Vista House, light hiking at Multnomah Falls, and another surprise place (tomorrow's post) that I've always wanted to go to. We then enjoyed a nice "Portlandy" dinner at a new favorite: Tasty & Sons. Mmmh, so good! You MUST go- though I like the lunch/brunch menu better than the dinner menu.

PS- Happy Birthday Mom! Love you so much!

US Air Force COT | Day #2

It seems like forever ago now (just last week), but here are some photos from Andrew's COT graduation day#2. This day included a "parade" of sorts with lots of marching, saluting, and standing. There was even singing of the Air Force song-- which I now know by heart and sang obsessively for nearly an entire week. I feel incredibly blessed to have been in attendance (in Montgomery, Alabama) and am even more grateful for a healthy, happy husband now at home.

I sure didn't mind seeing him in uniform...

We even enjoyed a date night in Montgomery!
 Southern sweet tea + tex mex + my Airman + a few "yes Ma'ams and No Sir's" = 1 smitten Jenna

Though Andrew won't be active duty for a few years, a life of adventure is calling our name and we're so excited!

US Air Force Commissioned Officer Training Graduation | Day 1

A picture is worth a thousand words right? You get the picture... my hubby is finished with training & I'm a happy wife.

He spent the last 5 weeks at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama completing Air Force Commissioned Officer Training. I was able to attend his graduation festivities in Alabama and am still catching up from the quick trip myself. Day #1 of his graduation celebrations included a spouse/family orientation, flag ceremony, and an awards ceremony. He worked very hard over the past 5 weeks and is still catching up on sleep & rest (I've never seen him fall asleep so fast). More to come later- but for now, enjoy the photos!

{Special thanks to my travel buddy & photography helper! Thanks for helping capture these sweet moments, Mom!}

 PS- Alabama is so hot. At 7am, my hair was nicely curled into beautiful ringlets & by 8am= instantly flat. I should have known not to even try. So humid! Props to all of these Airmen & women who are working hard every day in that heat. Oh my goodnesssssss.....
