Flowers & Craft Space

Flowers, flowers, flowers... so many flowers in our yard. I'm loving it. Some that we planted in pots, others that we woke up to one morning- they literally just appear and disappear  (planted by past renters). I had no idea that I would enjoy "gardening" of sorts. Never had an interest in it, never the least bit intrigued- until now. And, I love it! I must clarify though; I'm not sure I would call it true gardening. Yes, there's dirt, gloves, shovels- but nothing like my impressive neighbors who seriously work magic in their yards. It's more like a number of potted plants and veggies here and there and some sprinkled wild flower seeds. It's a start!  PS- I found out one of my flowers (Larkspur) is poisonous! Yikes!

'The earth laughs in flowers.'  -Ralph Waldo Emerson

In other news, I constructed a very rudimentary shelf out of a 2x8 piece of wood and L-brackets. It does the job and cost us less than $10! It was created in mind for my little craft wall in our office. Andrew has generously shared his office space with my craft craziness. It's turned out very well as it feels like we are spending time together while working on our own things in the same room. Unanticipated bonus for sure! I anticipate some changes with this wall (I need a "bill" & mail station), but it's a happy space for now and will do!

When not at work, running errands, with family or friends... this is where you'll find me! Right where I want to be... Home ;)

Depoe Bay | Oregon Coast is a Beaut

I've said it before and I'm saying it again. The Oregon coast is such a happy place of mine and one of the most beautiful places in the US. Over the weekend, Andrew and I joined the folks & the little brother (and new girlfriend) for a quick trip to Depoe Bay, Oregon. The weather was gorgeous, the company fab, the air refreshing & rejuvenating.

Dad and I took a few minutes away for a painting date- though I decided I'd rather take photos than paint this time.

Oregon, thanks for never disappointing...

Gardening beginnings...

Here is just a small peek at some of the garden-ish/yard things I started yesterday. I look forward to eventually sharing the rest once our seeds begin to grow. I truly have no idea what I'm doing, but a fun experiment indeed! And, a work out! Who knew gardening was a workout!?!

Props to all of you green-thumbers out there. I'm going to give it my best shot!

It brings me joy to have a flag hung in my granddad's honor. Flags always remind me of him and his patriotic self. I have such respect for the time he and others served in the military and am proud to hang the stars & stripes on our porch.

God will supply

Just a few iPhone pics & verses that I am frequenting this week.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.  Philippians 4:19

The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.
Psalm 28:7
If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!
Matthew 7:11

Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away
Luke 21:33

Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds!
Luke 12:24

Much is still packed and out of order in our new home. I will someday find the energy and interest to get fully unpacked. But for now, we are enjoying our new little home together and thank God for how he has provided each and every time for us. And now, back to work for a week! Oh, how I love my weeks off. But I also love what I do and am so glad that I get to spend my long nights caring for new Mamas, daddies, and sweet newborns.
Thanks for coming to visit Sweet Caroline!

Adrian + Martin + Baby Owen Bump | Maternity

Meet Adrian, Martin, & soon to arrive Baby Owen! These first time parents are anxiously awaiting the arrival of their little guy and literally have everything ready for him, from the adorable nursery to fully packed hospital bag. Weather was not in our favor, forcing a mostly indoor photo session with a little jaunt outside in a light sprinkle. But, with positive attitudes and a bit of good luck, we made it work and had a great time none the less. This couple is so sweet and will make great parents to little Owen! Congratulations you two three!

As you can see, we did get some more intimate shots... the rest will be kept for them :)

Photos were taken in their home and at Columbia Park in North Portland.
