B. Family of 3

I realize that I've shared lots of photos of my little nephew, sister, and bro-in law, but none-the-less, here are more! Minutes before I caught the commuter train from Providence to Boston, and then the silver line to Logan Airport (to fly home... a day in the commuting life of my sister), I was asked to snap a few family photos. Though it was feeding time for little Reid, we were able to hold him off to capture these sweet faces all together.

It brings me joy to be able to share my photography with those I love and make a lasting gift for them. A tangible way to share love.

Enjoy!

PS- That's all for the Auntie-posts for a while. The rest is her story to tell. ((Until I'm able to share the newborn photoshoot we did- that's under wraps until her adorable birth announcements get sent out)).

Back to work for a week. I've got to stop doing this week on, week off thing. Starting to be just a bit much.

Providence Peek

At one week postpartum, the new mama (my sis) needed an outing! We ventured up to Federal hill for some delicious Italian food and the most amazing chocolate cake I've ever had. Mom and baby did amazingly well! Couldn't have gone better. That first outing seems to be dreaded by most moms. It makes or breaks the following outings to come. Well, this one made it. She's got a good baby on her hands. So fun to see my sister become a mom- to see that maternal instinct come out. To even see the mamma bear come out while crossing traffic. 'Atta girl, go get em'. Go be that great Mom that God created you to be. Go love your son with your whole heart, teach him, lead by example, protect him, love every minute with him. Proud of you sis.

Back to Portland I go today... Hoping for some nice seat mates. Most of all, can't wait to see my sweetie.

Isaac is One!

My little cousin, Isaac, is one! In one year's time, he has grown and changed so much. From a sweet little baby with deep brown eyes and long eye lashes to a perfectly plump little fellow with a smile that literally turns heads... he's truly a precious addition to the family and such a blessing to his Mom and Dad. Adoption is a beautiful thing. So neat to see how both the child's life and parents' lives have changed for the better. Strange to imagine him in any other family. We love you little Isy.

Nephew love

This little fella' is my new nephew. Pretty cute if I do say so myself. I'm currently in Rhode Island helping the new momma and daddy & enjoying this sweet blessing. Putting those postpartum nursing skills to good use! Maybe I'll get out and enjoy what Rhode Island has to offer before I head back to my beloved Portland.

Flowers & Craft Space

Flowers, flowers, flowers... so many flowers in our yard. I'm loving it. Some that we planted in pots, others that we woke up to one morning- they literally just appear and disappear  (planted by past renters). I had no idea that I would enjoy "gardening" of sorts. Never had an interest in it, never the least bit intrigued- until now. And, I love it! I must clarify though; I'm not sure I would call it true gardening. Yes, there's dirt, gloves, shovels- but nothing like my impressive neighbors who seriously work magic in their yards. It's more like a number of potted plants and veggies here and there and some sprinkled wild flower seeds. It's a start!  PS- I found out one of my flowers (Larkspur) is poisonous! Yikes!

In other news, I constructed a very rudimentary shelf out of a 2x8 piece of wood and L-brackets. It does the job and cost us less than $10! It was created in mind for my little craft wall in our office. Andrew has generously shared his office space with my craft craziness. It's turned out very well as it feels like we are spending time together while working on our own things in the same room. Unanticipated bonus for sure! I anticipate some changes with this wall (I need a "bill" & mail station), but it's a happy space for now and will do!

When not at work, running errands, with family or friends... this is where you'll find me! Right where I want to be... Home ;)
