My Heart is Forever Yours

Happy Valentines Day friends!

I made this 'eye chart' on the above website! You can make it say anything you want. Give it a try!

An entire day completely devoted to love? What could be better? Though I love LOVE, sometimes the fakeness of this "holiday" annoys me. The store aisles are lined with cheap candy & red roses are everywhere to be found. The more I see, the less I want. I'd prefer to have a bouquet of wild flowers or even a special heartfelt love note or silly love poem (Andrew's specialty). Per Andrew, Valentines Day "is a dumb made-up holiday for people to make a bunch of money off of." For this reason, I expect little from my Valentine (this is probably his goal- that little smarty pants). However, I have to give my sweet husband credit, he has not only done some very sweet things in the past but continues to love on me in special ways on a daily basis no matter the holiday.

Besides that, we'll see if I will even get to see Andrew today- If my flight gets in on time, maybe I'll arrive just in time while it's still technically Valentines Day.

I'll never forget our first Valentines Day (I think it was our first). As a sophomore in high school, Andrew and my Dad exchanged the most awkward hand shake on the planet a few days prior to Valentines day. A.w.k.w.a.r.d. Since when did my boyfriend and father shake hands on a regular basis? Later that week (Vday), I arrived to my super cool car (the Astro Van) after school to find it filled with sweet little gifts. It then clicked that my dad had slipped Andrew the spare key during that handshake. Ah ha! Besides being surprised by Andrew, one of my favorite parts was arriving to work (I worked for my dad) after school to find Dad so excited to find out how it all worked. I'm so glad Andrew and my Dad could work together to spread some love. I love both of these men and am so thankful for the way that they share their love.
The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.

Dreaming

I could make these idea boards all day...  If only I had a house to make over!

It will be quite a while before the hubs and I ever truly settle down into a home for more than a few years, but I can dream & store my "likes" can't I?

PS- Valentines is tomorrow! I'll be flying back to the great NW- maybe travelers and airport personnel will be extra loving and kind and surprise us with a full course romantic meal on the flight! Maybe this dreaming thing has gone a bit too far today...

Boys Weekend & Nursecation

What happens when a wife leaves her hubby for a week after he is finished with an exam and has no studying to do over the weekend... and... his old college roommate comes into town for a boy's weekend? Oh boy. I'm excited for Andrew to get to hang out with his bestie (guys don't call their friends besties do they?). None the less, I'm sure they'll have a great time and I left them only sweets and treats- so hopefully they find some more nutritious food at some point. Have fun boys!
Get all of the video-gaming out of your system and Andrew, try to at least pretend you miss me!

I on the other hand am having some good "girl time" with my Aunt and Grandma. Taking somewhat of a "nursecation" as I like to call it! Also known as trying to help my aunt as she recovers from a surgery. A few tidbits from my travel:

We flew over the Grand Canyon on my way south! I wish I could have gotten a better picture!
I had to choose between Burger King and Pizza Hut for a scarfed down meal on my brief layover. Ew.
I seem to be drawn to wheelchairs... This little cove of chairs provided the perfect spot to scarf down a few bites and be ignored by the bustling group of travelers on the other side.
Howdy Houston!

Have a blessed weekend!
