Friend & Fam Baby Shower

My sister, and best friends, Catherine and Laura, helped put together a sweet baby shower for me two weekends ago. What an incredible gift to be showered with so much love! The decor was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the company was just lovely. It was so nice to be surrounded by those whom I love and respect most.

A huge thanks goes to my sister who flew all the way from Michigan to help celebrate and love on baby girl and I. Seriously, such a sweet and thoughtful gift!

My friend, Caroline even came down from Seattle to help celebrate! So kind of her to make the trip!

Laura put together this creative craft project. We made a onesie for each month for monthly photos with baby girl! So fun!

I can't say enough about how sweet and special this day was. I felt so loved and I think that baby girl did too! Thanks to all who came!

32 Weeks | Baby Reyna

Baby girl had quite the busy week as we traveled to Wisconsin for my brother's wedding. Thankfully, we had smooth comings and goings but I'm certainly exhausted from the busy trip! Our little love is growing right along this week averaging 16.7 inches and 3.75 lbs (the weight of a jicama- which I didn't even try drawing this week). I am feeling very pregnant these days and find that the simple things like putting shoes on, picking things up off the ground, and trying to shave my legs are quite the task and done quite ungracefully!

I'm very thankful to be feeling better this past week and to be rid of some abdominal pain that was quite bothersome for a good 5 weeks. Praising God that the pain is mostly gone, that we are both healthy, and that I feel much better and can eat normal things again.

I enjoyed having family around the past week and getting to share baby's kicks, hiccups, and dances with them. I love sharing her movements with loved ones and seeing their eyes light up with the same joy I feel each time she moves.

I'm getting anxious for baby to get here, though I know there's a while yet to go. I'm doing my best to soak up each day with Andrew as it will never be just the two of us again. A new chapter will begin and our lives will definitely change. So much to look forward to, and much to miss at the same time.

56 days to go!! Keep growing sweet baby girl!

31 Weeks | Baby Reyna

Baby girl is growing right along at 31 weeks. She is the size of a pineapple at roughly 3.5 pounds and 16.2 inches. This week has been a busy one with loved ones in town (my sister, nephew, and good friends) and a friend/family baby shower. I won't say much about the shower as it deserves its own post. It certainly was such a special day and I'm still overwhelmed with all of the love and kindness that was shared with us.

This week is already proving to be busier than last as I travel to Wisconsin for my brother's wedding! Can't wait for the festivities and family time. I only wish that Andrew could join.

I've still been feeling extra tired each day but was reassured that this is very common during the early 3rd trimester. I look forward to a few weeks from now when a bit more nesting energy hopefully comes my way. I have more craft projects on my to-do list that would sure be nice to finish. Let's be real, after baby comes, I doubt there will be much DIY crafting time.

Since it's been 10 weeks since the last collage, here are the past 10 weeks of bump pics!

We thank God each day for this baby girl and continue praying for health and safety. If you think about it, you can be praying for safe, uneventful travels for baby and I this week!
Sixty-three days to go!

30 Weeks | Baby Reyna

The big thirty! Thirty weeks feels like another great milestone to reach. Baby girl is about the length of a cucumber at roughly 16 inches and 3.2 pounds. Our sweet girl is definitely growing and taking up lots of room in this belly of mine. I seem to be feeling extra tired lately and have been taking advantage of afternoon nap times. I'm thinking these last few weeks may be my last chance at long naps and plenty of rest, so I'm sure enjoying it as much as possible.

Mother's Day felt extra special this year as my heart, mind, and soul prepare to mother this baby girl.  Last year's Mother's Day was spent with Andrew's family. I fondly remember a lovely meal where we shared of our exciting news of being pregnant. Little did we know that we would later miscarry. I will never forget my mother-in-law and sister-in-law's tears of joy and sweet reaction. Sweet memories indeed. This little one is long awaited and oh, how I can't wait to hold her in these longing arms.

This week brings my first baby shower. I'm beyond excited and can't wait to be surrounded by women whom I love, admire, and respect. Sweet baby girl, you are dearly loved and already celebrated by so many.

10 weeks to go. Unlike the first trimester, I think these weeks will fly right on by!

happy wife

Remember that dreaded surgery rotation? Well, it's over and I'm a happy wife. It thankfully went quickly and turned out to be quite the blessing that Andrew was placed at a certain hospital. You can't complain too much when there's free food for every meal! Andrew basically worked 80 hour weeks and somehow managed to keep up a positive attitude and even gain a little weight (opposed to the normal weight loss that occurs in this rotation). I especially looked forward to him bringing me home extra luna bar snacks each day. He is now finishing up his 3rd year with a pediatrics rotation. I'm so very proud of his hard working self and the way he remains so loving and kind through and through. So thankful to be his wife!

Here is a sneak peek of baby girl's mobile that I made many many weeks ago. It is one of my favorite parts of her room and oh so simple! Full post to come soon.

29 Weeks | Baby Reyna

29 Weeks here and baby girl is the size of a butternut squash at roughly 2.9lbs and 15.7inches. Sweet girl is moving up a storm inside, which I still can't get enough of. I think I'll definitely miss the moving when she's out.

Andrew still sings to our little one and loves feeling her moving around. He thinks its hilarious to feel her feet and knees firmly poking out at times. I had my glucose tolerance test this week and thankfully don't have gestational diabetes. I recommend the lemon/lime flavor for those wondering. Otherwise, not many updates this week... Just thankful to be where I'm at and that baby is healthy, growing, and well.
